Glasgow commonwealth games.

I see that Glasgow as won the commonwealth games in 2014 good luck to them but can't stop wondering how much this will cost the English thinking of the 60 billion we send over the border now.:o

According to reports I heard, the cost will be met by the Scottish government.

It has been estimated that it will cost the city £288m to stage the sporting event, with most of the funding coming from the Scottish Government.

I attended the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002 and thought it did the city wonders.
It was a little suspect that they just covered up the derelict buildings with big posters though, rather than actually doing something about them.

I think it's great that an event of this magnitude comes to the British Isles and I think it's worth supporting. :thumbs:
