I must of spent a fortune on vinyl i used to get most of mine from Manchester (Spin Inn records, Manchester Underground, Eastern Block, Vinyl Exchange, HMV. and i also went to Bury to Vibes and Muse.
I nearly forgot about this one its a classic

Hit house - Jack to the sound of the underground
That's all from me now :D
They're all my favourites, hee.
found some in there that i've been after for years, but never knew who they was by or what they was called.
Had them on tape from 808state's show on Sunset FM.
Got most of my tunage from Eastern Bloc
Sunset 102FM - KISS 102 - Galaxy 102
I use to listen to Signal FM (New Dawn) i used to tape them of the radio then go out and buy the records.
Last one from me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEdiOBz4zeM&feature=related
D-Mob - we call it acieed
I had to make a great long aerial to get Sunset / Key103.
It was 20metres of very thin wire going to a tree out back :bonk:
I taped loads of 808 State shows back in the day. Still have them actually. Nowadays with the power of the internet you can just download them from here :
http://www.808state.com/sounds/808djs.htm
I also used to listen to Signal radio (New Dawn) too, That was quality. They had a DJ on there called Antix who was superb. The opening theme for the show was Nina Simone - Feeling good. I still have a few of their tapes somewhere.

Anyone remember the International 1 in Manchester? Was a real dump. Saw Husker Du play there years ago just after 'Warehouse songs & stories' came out. Must have only been about 100 people there, I ended up sat on one of the drum cases next to Grant Hart for some reason during the gig...???
The International 2 was a bit bigger & posher, Not far from the INT1 if i remember correctly.
-DQ
Long time ago lol
-
international 1 and 2 ---them were the days--saw some good bands there---
dz----i bet you dont remember the factory--down hulme--think your to young
Thanks DeeZ :)
i'll have to go through some old tapes, and get some clips.
there is two i'm after, but not even sure if i have them on tape anymore.
i got told one was called "Adrenalin", but my mate wasn't sure.
it was an old rave tune from around 89-90.
Best i can describe it was a few beats, then a woman saying "YES" a few times at the beginning ,ten it started up. it was the same all the way through :D
Da Da Da Da Da Da Da "Yes" Da Da Da Da Da Da "yes" Da dA dA dA etc, hee
then the other was what sounded like a black woman screaming "Putta your hands in the air".
Any ideas ?
Adrenalin isn't that by N-joy
i tried that on Youtube a good while back, but it isn't the one :(
might not even be called "Adrenalin" :bonk:
i'll just sneak this one in whilst nobody is looking :D

Youre right, I dont remember the factory. I think the ITL1 was one of my first excursions down town to see bands after Lindisfarne at the apollo in 1983.
3dom is correct, Adrenalin was N-Joi.

OMG. CHEWY, that "Space Face" track brings back so many good memories. It was a time in the early 90's when i was going round in a car with a guy called Ken, and Wayne Walsh (both from Helmshore) looking to hook up with a convoy and get to a party. If i remember, strawberries were the flavour of the moment at this time

Did you go Monroes at Great Harwood?
i still have my membership card for that place
I went to Monroes a few times but usually it was the meeting place for the convoys for the Blackburn Raves. This was after we stopped meeting at Sett End.
-DeeZ
It was a good starter for the night in Monroes :)
i saw Dream Frequency there, and had a pee with Daz and Andy from 808state, and MCTunes was in the bog too :D
I just went there too as the meeting place for the convoys to the parties. I saw hundreds of people coming out at the end of the night. When i finally went in, i was shocked at how small it was inside and wondered how that many people used to get in
i didn't know it had burnt down  :(
