I remember smoking them, I use to pinch my dads when he wasn't looking:eek: and take them to Blackthorn school to share with my friends in smokers corner, we use to share 1 ciggy between us all:eek: .
Thats one thing I regret taking up smoking.
We didn't know the dangers then did we, it was like a fashion item.

My Auntie used to smoke Park Drive. They're the ones without any filters in the red and white box, aren't they?

Yes, they were lovely. Gave you a corking cough! Everybody used to smoke them - including me for a while.

I think it still is for todays school kids. I know I always hated my mum smoking and swore I never would. Then peer pressure kicked in and I thought it's ok I can stop whenever I want, haha it just took 35 years to do so. :)

Funny how things change, even watching an old "Last of the Summer Wine" the smoking and drinking seem strange.

Can anyone remember that taste when you lit up a PD (usually out of a five pack from the shop on Rochdale Rd) after coming out of Bacup baths ??

Wild Woodbines were also a very popular small cigarette in those days. I remember they were 2/6 for 20 in the mid 1950's

That takes me back, my mum used to smoke Park Drive, I can still see the way the red writing looked on the packs if I close my eyes

Sadly she's no longer with us, the Park Drive took her with emphesemia when I was 14
