View Full Version : Booked up!!
Gran volunteered to have a sleepover at the weekend so we were childless Saturday night:thumbs:
anyway decided to go out for a meal - not having had any lunch we were starving.
Farmers Glory - booked up until 9.45pm (this was at 7pm)
Dining Room - Fully Booked
Ninos - 2 hour wait
White horse - 1 hr 45 mins wait.
After driving to all these we were considering getting a takeaway!!! Ended up driving over to Tottington in Bury to the Italian - Carmelos.
Very glad we did as the food was gorg!! I had squid to start and the batter was light as a feather. Other Half had mussels in a lovely tomatoes and garlicy sauce - very nice and loads of them. For our mains I had Sea Bass - cooked perfectly and OH had Italian stew - which I wished I had had when I saw it - gorg!!
I think the point of this post is - The credit Crunch doesn't seem to be hitting our local eateries as much as I thought it would. This is fantastic news for our local economy.  :notworthy: :notworthy:
Sounds like a nice meal, worth the trip.
Blimey im suprised a lot of places are busy especially with the credit crunch.
Really am suprised
Thanks for that New One.
We have some friends that live just around the corner from Carmello's and are always raving about how good it is.
However, when we go out for a meal with them, we can never think of anywhere to go. :o
Next time, I think I've now got the very place to suggest. :notworthy:

:ymmd::rofl::rofl::rofl:
I can never understand the attraction of Ninos, its a mystery to me :scratch_head:
Get to Bella Italia in Bury! It's superb!
I think people do have money, it is just the press that say you havent.
Eating out is worth it and I recommend all those places above.

Can second that Jan - We tend to go there on works nights outs and food and service is always excellent.
We had the very same a few weeks.
All of our usual haunts were fully booked and even my persistent "there's only two of us, can you not squeeze us in?" failed to work.
We ended over at an Italian near Brierfield and went to Baroccos, which was great. Again, it was rammed here and people were waiting almost an hour to get a table - well worth the wait though.
As Mack says, it's the paper's that are saying no-one has any money.
Where do you eat in ninos :scratch_head:
When I pass its just a sofa and a counter :bonk:

I usually sit at a table. :suprise:
Seriously though, it seats about 150 people.
To the left of the entrance door is the bar and waiting area, to the right of the entrance is where all the tables are.
I think overall, it about 5 or 6 previous shops knocked into one.
I remember going the first week it originally opened ..... it was so small then.

Is there two ninos? :scratch_head:
The one I mean is on Manchester road just past haslingden tesco. If its this one then they must be small seats :bonk:

Easy mistake to make :bonk:
Is it the same company? I couldnt imagine sitting down at a posh table and ordering a 22" worlds largest pizza
Lol. I doubt you'd fit 15 people in Nino's takeaway nevermind 150. As Johnny says, Ninos the restaurant is on Bacup Road in Rawtenstall.
I'm 99% certain that it's the same family and the worlds biggest pizzas are fantastic, as some of you well know and were treated to one in July.

Im getting two of those tomorrow :D
Shame its not a bank holiday monday as they would be £22 not £44 but at £44 they are still good value :)
