Whereabouts on Sharneyford are the cameras?

Jane

It's usually a mobile unit, they tend to park in between parked cars a bit lower down than the school.

Captain Gatso for Prime Minister, he has got my vote, I love anarchy its like breath of fresh air in this world of globalist politics. BURN EM ALL and tie councillors to them as well hahaha

Yeh the one near the merc garage thats evil, to far from the village to be of any use other than to raise money, after all thats what they are for. Just wait until the A66 becomes 50mph then see the Council hammer that with cameras it will be like the A666 into Bolton from the M61. But that is the plan screw us motorists even more , GOD I hate the Council.

Has anyone ever asked the question "Why doesn't Calderdale have any cameras at all?" Similar area, geography, weather etc. Are they being killed right, left and centre ?

hawkeye
23-09-07, 09:43
North YorksMany places dont have Gatso cameras, but they do have mobile ones. I accept the need for policing of the highways no problem, but I would much rather take my chances with a traffic officer if he pulled me for doing 35 in a 30 rather than Mr gatso doing the evil deed for him. Its all Money related cameras are cheaper than Police officers and raise more money, they will argue its for our own good, but why cant we decide whats good for us? Oh yeh I forgot , The New World Order!! Democracy is dead here comes UK in a dictatorship. So what do we do about it? Remember History and Oliver Cromwell he kicked out corrupt MPs and dissolved parliament by FORCE we will have to do that in the end, its the only way we will survive as a democracy, some say Cromwell was a dictator other say he was a hero, i say the latter because anyone who will stand up against the tyranny of a compromised and corrupt Govt is in my eyes a HERO

heidi
23-09-07, 18:36
if we are all rossendale people, surely to god you know where these cameras are, if you havent learnt to watch your speed around these areas you don't help yourselves. just in case you are not aware the statics are yellow and box shape, the mobile ones are in a bright yellow van with the boot wide open with a speed camera sign on tee hee

ahhh i beg to differ.... the mobile ones are now tucked nicely between other parked cars and are white!

evil is the driver driving at 50 mph and kills the child who goes into the road because some bleep person has parked on the pavement:mad:

someones daughter,son,grandchild,niece,nephew etc etc

hawkeye
23-09-07, 19:40
Sorry Heidi I disagree, I always seem to court controversy but hey what the hell, A CHILD should not ever be allowed out on the road unsupervised, I am not condoning speeding at all, I am just saying that parents have a responsibility to there children if they are out and about on the roads, every person who uses the highways should realise we all have to be a duty to watch out, its not just motorists that are at fault.

rant over.

hawkeye

Further analogy is cars and people dont mix, cars are made of steel people are made of soft gooy stuff called flesh.

heidi
23-09-07, 19:44
well with permission or without permission you can not supervise a child constantly that split second is all it takes, even to slip your hand whilst waling down the road. my son when he was two slip his reigns and went missing in boots, a split second for the idiot doing 50mph..... i take it you havent had to deal with traffic collisions with children involved

my rant over

hawkeye
24-09-07, 08:00
Heidi get real stop talking like a mindless numptie it gets on my wick!!! Children have been killed on roads since the advent of the motor car, No I have not had to scrape any one off the tarmac child or otherwise and if you are a PCSO neither have you. Lets face it PCSOs cant even swim, let alone treat a injured person.

Cant see the comparison between Boots the chemist and the A66 Hasligden bypass, neither have I ever seen a 2 year old child wandering about on the A66.

Its obvious to me that anyone in the industry of policing have become brainwashed to some extent, even my Son I include in that assesment, PCSOs just think they are polic officers when in actual fact they are nothing of the sort, a uniform cant make a police officer, its the man or woman in that uniform that makes the difference, thats why I am proud of my Boy because he IS making a difference. Get rid of PCSOs and get more real police men and women doing a proper job for the community, not wannabees riding up and down in yellow Ka's

In defence of heidi - whether she is a pcso or nt - she has some valid points. At 20 mph you would injure a child, a 30 mph - seriously injure and at 40 possibly kill a child.

When she was speaking about children - this can be any age. I am thinking about my 11 year old son who catches the bus to and from school (on his own). What happens if he misinterprets how fast a car is going one morning as he crosses the main road to catch the bus. He steps out but because the car is travelling at 40 instead of 30 - can't stop in time ( braking/thinking distance etc..) Bam my child is run over.

Only recently (I work in a high school) a 13 year old girl arrived in school - She was on a crossing and a car was travelling to fast to stop and ran into her - poor girl wasn't seriously injured but was very traumatised. Was in shock and had just carried on to school!

Also if we all stuck to the speed limit we would use less fuel, save money, save the planet!!!

183: Particularly vulnerable pedestrians. These include
children and elderly pedestrians who may not be able to judge your speed and could step into the road in front of you. At 40 mph your vehicle will probably kill any pedestrians it hits. At 20 mph there is only a 1 in 20 chance of the pedestrian being killed. So kill your speed
Above is an extract from the highway code - which puts the owness on the driver to be aware of pedestrians.

Please stop the nasty comments hawkeye

i got knocked over on a zebra crossing when i was 18!!!!
that was a bloke doing 40 down the road, thing is he was 73 so couldnt see me or the traffic on the other side of the road had stopped to let me cross.
that wasnt his speed it was the fact he was too old and his rwactions were too slow. im not saying driving fast is ok cos if it was one of my kids knocked over id be shouting from the roofs but most mobile speed cameras are in places where you can comfortably do 40 and not put anyone at risk.

New one whose figures are you basing your facts on?? not a TV ad sponsored by a lying corrupt Govt hell bent on world order I hope? Dont tell me what to do if you want to be a sheeple the feel free. If some dozy pedestrian walks out in front of a car thats his fault see pedestrian code look left right the left again and if IF IF IF IF the F*****G ROAD IS CLEAR CLEAR CLEAR the cross quickly to the other side always watching out for motor vehicles. Shock tactics from TV ads seem to work on sheeple but those that think outside the box is a diffent story.

hawkeye
24-09-07, 13:19
For those idiots that have kids in say Britannia or Weir schools I say this, YOU are at fault if your kids get knocked down because its your laziness that makes the roads so congested its dangerous for us all, some only live a few hundered yards from school and mummy or daddy has to collect them in the range rover!! My god it makes me sick.

hawkeye
24-09-07, 13:23
At Britannia I have 2 grandkids so I know all about it. Double parking, tyhe lollipop lady has impared vision coz of the lazy sods who cant walk, Police should book all the lot of them for inconsiderate/dangerous parking!! Some parents turn up half an hour before schools out, they bring magazines to read whilst they await the arrival of there kid!!! Its outrageous!! But that wont happen instead they stick a speed camera van in the line of cars hoping to nab a motorist by stealth, get real .

Hawkeye - you are clearly very angry about this issue but please don't insult us or swear at us. Yes I have got my figures from a government sorce. My brother in law is high ranking within the police force - works for the Tag team (ie knocking down doors of drug dealer etc.. - Tactical Aid) and has seen some horrsndous crashes caused by speeding motorists. Also a good friend is in the firebrigade and again he has numerous stories of cutting, mainly young drivers, out of cars due to speeding and losing control.

Couldn't agree more with you than the parking situation outside schools. I work in a high school in Bury, the grammar school is next door to the one I work at and the parking is horrendous. If there was ever a serious accident or fire no emergency service vehicle would be able to gain access.

I have no choice but to drop my child off at school by car - we live in Loveclough and he attends school in Bury - he is 5 years old as well. My eldest catched the bus to high school. If you telephone the council and report the bad parking they have a duty to send out a warden to ticket illegaly parked vehicles alternatively you can inform the police if they are blocking exits etc..

hawkeye
24-09-07, 14:17
Not angry if a want to swear and cuss I will. Only when someone yanks my chain usually. Young drivers driving outside there ability getting killed thats there fault, they are behind the wheel not Mr gatso, As for the school run brigade, i once sent a piece into the free press inc piccy, you cant shame the shameless. Police dont wanna know its someone elses job enforcing parking in Rossendale???

My son kicks doors in as well of drug dealers etc etc but that dont make him an expert in all things police. I dont condone speeding and yes we need some enforcement, but in contex of the problem, the A66 proposals are a joke. Cameras on the whole are a failure, in any sensible society they would be srapped but the revenue is another story, about a third of the money from speeding goes straight into the Governments coffers, thats the truth behind cameras not road safety, Police are using technology from star wars to get speeding cars, they even are planning to ban by law radar detectors and jammers from vehicles, thats dictatorship, we wont be allowed to fight back so they win we lose. the logical conclusion to all this is 15,ph limits in town and 50mph on motorways and you know what some idiot would go along with that. Thats how brainwashed the sheeple are, they deserve to be enslaved and killed, for being stupid and believing the lies from politicians. Will you get accident figures for Grane Road and the A66 and post them on here? lets see the facts for these roads. And the justification for reducing the speed limit to 50 from 60mph on the A66. Other than that we can argue and curse and swear at each other thats freedom, enjoy it while we can.

What about the young driver that is driving outside his ability - loses control kills himself and innocent pedestrians/bystanders - what then ?

At the end of the day speed cameras put points on your licence - I am sure that drivers with 10 points on their licence drive much more carefully than with no points. Who wants to lose their licence?

It wasn't reported in many papers but he had actually TWOC'd the car, was driving without insurance and was driving not in accordance with a licence. If this idiot had crashed into your car - no insurance would mean no payout to you.

Example of PC madness, of which I hate.

In the film " The Dambusters" Wing Cmdr Guy Gibson had a dog, the dog was called "Nigger" the last time the film was aired on TV a couple of Months ago, "N" word had been edited out!!! Whats wrong with this Country? I dont get all umpty if I get called a Pom, or a Brit, time these foriegners got over themselves me thinks

I think a very good example of what you are talking about was seen on Hells kitchen recently - Jim Davidsons ideas of what is accepteble in todays society were completely off radar. I personally was offended to hear some of the words he used. The N word it just as unaccepteable in my view.

ooooooooooooooo touched a nerve ,? Carly Simon wrote a song once I will let you guess which one ?? FREEDOM of speach ever heard of it? Do you remember it? Kiss it goodbye because the Government have said so. The only reason people accept a certain element of foriegners is because there is no choice, the Govt make laws to prevent anyone using Nigger or Paki even Golliwogs are banned its pathetic!!!

whats the difference between calling a person from Pakistan a Paki or a British person a Brit.?

I aint a racist I have an Indian friend, German friends, American friends, even Scottish friends, Everyone knows the kind of humour Jim Davidson is prone to, like Bernard manning, Les dawson, Benny Hill, were these racists or just sending up society in general?? New One may think they are racist I think they are proper funny, comedians with a great sense of humour and should be seen as that and nothing else. I think you all need to go and see Edgar Steele check him out Google him read his stuff get the message before it is to late.

My favourite comedian was Dave Allen he also must be politcaly incorrect according to certain sheeple
