Emmerdale 5000th episode

Yorkshire soap Emmerdale is celebrating its 5000th episode with a special programme on Monday, May 26.
The series was originally only scheduled to run for thirteen weeks.
The special takes a look back at some of Emmerdale's most memorable scenes and characters.
Mark Charnock and Joe Gilgun take viewers on a guided tour of the famous village and Lucy Pargeter reveals the studio secrets.
Past cast members Sheila Mercier, Freddie Pyne, Frazer Hines and Jean Rogers are reunited. There are contributions from Claire King, Jeff Hordley, John Middleton, Lisa Riley and Paula Tilbrook.

And attached, you can see the front door of the actual pub they filmed the very first episodes in.
It was still called The Woolpack, but was filmed on location in a Skipton village called Arncliffe.
We stayed a nearby campsite for a couple of days last July.
The lovely lady in the pic is my friend Carol.
After a few months of filming, the locals ganged up on the film crew and so they moved location to Otley {I think - correction anyone?} - called Otton or something similar in the soap.
I'll get mi coat ...

It isn't as good as it used to be but still watchable if not for Roxanne Pallet
