Red face Tom Cat Urine ...

Does anyone have any tips to banish the odour ?

Had our front door wedged open yesterday as we unpacked loads of stuff from the car and have come downstairs today to be greeted with a rather unpleasant fragrance ... To be less polite - Our house reeks of tom cat pee.

Cant see a specific origin of stench so presume it's multiple sprayings . But thankfully it can only be permeating from the inner hallway , as the door from there to rest of the house was closed.

I have steam cleaned (wooden) floor & wiped down walls with some Febreze flash solution. But the benefits were short lived.
I currently have a bowl of boiled water & vinegar sitting in the hall which is more masking than dealing !

Anyone got any handy hints ??

--- Ps. It was him : Ginger & White Cat. ...

Re: Tom Cat Urine ...

Odour eliminator available from vets or on-line. It's a bacterial product - the bacteria "eat" the smell, so don't use with disinfectant 'cos that will kill the bacteria. Also good at getting rid of the smell of gone-off milk in carpets and such like bad smells.
Also, if you spray where he's pee'd with feliway spray he may not pee there again - the official vet's line is that it works, but in my experience it may or may not work. Or just settle for the house smelling of cats - we do (even tho' our 6 male cats have been castrated (by my own fair hand) ever since the matriarch died the boys have been confused (no one to boss them) and tend to spray in the hall. Just like kids really.

Thanks Roger. Will get online & get some ordered.

Erm - he wont be peeing there again (hopefully) as he isn't our cat and should not have been in our house in the first place !

Sorry for my rudeness not getting back to you Roger

Its worked absolutely brilliantly. The odour lingered for days till spray was delivered and within few hours of spraying it had vanished entirely .

Really is remarkable stuff. Many thanks. I had visions of having to have floor ripped up, skirting boards replaced and possibly even plaster removed from walls - really was that pungent an odour !
