Have you informed the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence of this discovery?

Re: Rust stains on cotton ...

I wonder if I'm the only person in world allergic to WD40 lol.

No idea how to remove rust stains I've got one on my duvet thanks to a rogue screw that was left in a pocket. Luckily it's in a place where the bed runner goes.

Re: Rust stains on cotton ...

Managed to get the vast majority of the stain out.

Not quite sure what it was that worked in the end - Sprayed with WD40, then placed stained area in sink drenched it with lemon juice and covered with salt. Left it to dry. Then covered it with white vinegar and more salt. Left to dry again. Then put it on pre wash and extended wash cycle with double dose of Ariel.

.. Now have to hope car polish will restore finish to stainless steel sink ()

did you watch the programme on channel 4 health freaks last nite ... WD40 was mentioned ...

Health Freaks - 4oD - Channel 4

With 83% of people surfing the internet with their health problems and looking up alternatives to conventional treatments, doctors are hearing ever more extraordinary 'miracle' home remedies from their patients.
In this brand new series, GPs Dr Pixie McKenna, Dr Ellie Cannon and Dr Ayan Panja examine whether any of these homespun cures actually work?
The doctors are on the lookout for simple, safe and scientifically convincing health solutions. Could any of these remedies save the NHS millions?
If any of the applicants can convince the GPs there might be something in their remedy, then it will be put forward to a small trial or test.
Health Freaks finds out who knows best - doctors who go by the book or members of the public who make their own medicines? Are the people who use them barmy or are they pioneers?

Under examination in the first episode are Simon and Andy, who believe WD-40 could be a quick fix cure for Britain's ten million arthritis sufferers.
There's also mum-of-two Sophie, who picked up her home remedy for child teething while living in France.
And Carl claims to have finally rid himself of an eight-year-old verruca with the help of duct tape.
But will the doctors find these remedies dangerous or safe, convincing or implausible?
