Re: Lynne's Garden

there are two peonies in there .. and both of them are sprouting up... and a couple of lillies ...but it does need weeding if they have to have any chance of growing up.... there used to be 1 peony ...but over the many years it had been in there because it was there when we moved into this house when i was 4 ... about 9 years ago another popped up at the other end of the border one year it didnt flower .. but the following year it did.

Re: Lynne's Garden

They are one of my favourite. This year I have planted three, hopefully they will take. They don't like being moved apparently. I will see how they go in this clay soil and if they do well I will plant more of them.
I am going to put my Dalia's in tomorrow because I think the frosts have finished. I have probably lost some of last years because I didn't lift them and they have probably rotted!!!! Bad me!! Winter just came with a bang and they were still in flower when we had the first hard frost. I should have lifted them then but I was busy with my mum.

Re: Lynne's Garden

I had to dig everything out of that border one year with about 10mins notice ... the following year they didnt flower but the year after they did... they dont like being disturbed but if you manage to get enough room round them look after them and replant them as soon as it is possible then they will take again .. might take a couple of years but they will flower again

Re: Lynne's Garden

We have some lovely daisy's and dandilions in our front garden and cars in the back (not in a scrapyard kind of way LOL) Looking forward to seeing the pictures sounds like a lot of hard work.

LOL Ive got some of those too. I actally think dandilions and daisies are pretty, but a bugger to shift!! Like people say, they add a bit of colour and you could always make dandelion and burdock pop.

Re: Lynne's Garden

Hmmmmmm, housework, garden? housework, garden? Quandary.
Garden wins!
It will be gardening this morning and Mums this afternoon.
Could somebody switch the sun on please!
I will probably weed some more of the borders on the patio and tidy it up a bit more today. OR I could tackle the monster rockery at the back of the back garden. That is a mammoth task the worst bit of which is that to kneel down and tackle it you have to kneel on gravel!! I have a comfy kneeling pad but inevitably you end up kneeling on the gravel. OUCH!! ..... so bearing that in mind I think I will do the beds on the patio lol.
Happy day to everybody !
