Had to laugh overhearing my daughter and her mates getting ready for an evening out yesterday.
Overhearing , not to be confused with eavesdropping - 4 girls all 21/22 - 2 closed doors and flight of stairs and still conversations clearly audible !
Was quite reminiscent of myself 30 years ago till I heard the funniest line ; I was of that self-doubting generation with endless 'Does my bum look big in this ?', 30 years on I hear 'Does my bum look big enough in this ? - Times have clearly changed !!

- Also had further laugh when her friend was telling me of a recent night out when she had returned to her flat and discovered she had been burgled (.. didn't laugh at that bit), police were called and she did as instructed and not touched anything till officers attended. As the police officers looked around her flat one of them offered sympathy for the mess the burglars had made of her bedroom, with clothes, handbags & jewellry strewn all over her bed and shoes all over her floor .. it took the other attending officer (female) to spare her the embarrassment of having to confess the truth by asking whether she had struggled deciding what to wear earlier on that evening

Re: Cornucopia

Something similar happened to a former girlfriend that was burgled. Her bedroom always looked like a tornado had visited. The policeman comment on the mess they'd made in her bedroom, obviously she made no comment,

Had to smile. While out and about today I was behind a car that had the following sticker on his rear window:- " If you can read this I've lost my caravan."

Re: Cornucopia

Off to the National Bike Museum first thing in the morning. Its an amazing collection of British bikes. Not inflicting Maria with such a treat. Its the 30th anniversary of its opening so its free entry and lots of other things going on during the day. Famous riders and bikes, autojumble I will be in heaven for several hours.
Going with one of my best friends and may take the ultimate best friend with me as he throws a sulk if I leave him at home. the Arch of course.

Re: Cornucopia

What a brilliant day for any Petrol head. An amazing collection of hundreds of British motorcycles, mostly beautifully restored to a very high standard. Manufacturers that have disappeared in the mists of time to all the well known ones. There were thousands of people of all ages I think many from Yorkshire as the entry was free and we all know what Tykes are like. The museum is modern with a good cafe and I think the largest in the world. The collection is priceless and worth countless millions.
Bought a couple of books, one for my collection and one for a friends Christmas present which I will have to read to make sure its suitable for him, thats what friend are for.

As would I were it to exist! There is an incredible Rosetta space mission. Not connected to Rossendale unfortunately. Hey Sto666, we should start one.

Re: Cornucopia

Got my first Christmas card today, it was from Dogs Trust.
Yesterday I had the best Indian meal I have ever had. it was on the outskirts of Huddersfield. So good in fact I have being told to shut up talking about it.
