Pretty good documentary on BBC4 called Punk Britannia at the minute. If you like pub rock/punk rock it's worth a watch.

Cyclical comes to mind, compare the sound of The kings of Leon to the sound of pub rockers Ducks Deluxe.

No difference except the size of the audience.

S'all good though.

Kings of Leon - it doesn't matter how much they warn people, folk will still insist on giving all their cinnamon away. It's irresponsible and has a detrimental effect on innovative barbecued pork recipes.

Every time I go down into t'village there's always girls wantin to give me their cinnamon.

I'm awash with the bloody stuff. I mean, I like cinnamon as much as the next fella but bloody hell, once you've had apple pie an cinnamon, well, what you gonna do with it? I've got my missus to make me a pair of them trousers that they used on the Great escape to get rid of all the earth from the tunnels that they dug, except I fill mine with cinnamon.

Sticks, powder, it all goes in, then I set off for a walk down to Crawshawbooth an just pull the strings in my pockets, shake my legs a bit, and release the stuff on the floor as I carry on my way in a nonchalant fashion.

Nobody suspects a bloody thing.

Cinnamon.

Its alright in small doses.

Re: Stuff that I like

A story I have just read on the net about a couple of ex soldiers that served in Afghanistan reuniting ex squaddies with dogs they befriended out there. One particular item was about a soldier that had being killed, his dozens of letters home to his parents contained much about a dog that had befriended him called Peg. His parents asked the organization if they could find this dog and send it back to them in memory of their son. This after a great deal of effort they did. Very touching.

Re: Stuff that I like

I put peg dog afghanistan into my search engine and some lovely pictures came up of a beautiful dog. The soldier and his family with Peg.

Prog Rock - always been a big fan. Yes, Genesis, Rush, Pink Floyd, King Crimson etc. Saw a dedicated magazine in Tesco and bought it a few months back which has introduced me to a whole new batch of bands. Kingbathmat are now number one choice on ipod (it's not an ipod but I call an ipod). Also like Maschine, Moon Safari and Haken. Rediscovered Barclay James Harvest (Saddleworths finest) who are still going.
