Ok...

All in favour of encouraging a healthier lifestyle but also stressing the importance of gradual increase in activity/exercise, taking it slowly at first.

Someone at Rossendale Council must agree..

What other reason is there for the cycle lane at the top of Commercial Street, Burnley Rd in loveclough ??? Its all fully marked up & ready to go..

All 20 ft of it........

Re: Amusing Observations...

This is a typical cycle lane a whole few yards then it stops! Then a mile later you might a few more yards!

You can Chris.

We'll ignore it though

Sat here in Holland - they really know how to make cycle lanes. Every road has one, they have cycle traffic lights and cycles have the right of way.

All they need now is some hills

Re: Amusing Observations...

. We have another cycle lane for those who wish to cycle a very short distance !

Yet another one fully marked up for a 20 foot stretch near Lambton Gates in Rawtenstall ( near the mini roundabout / opposite gasometer ).

No idea of the cost of these little follies but it worth every penny for a good laugh !!

Unhappy Re: Amusing Observations...

Are they one way or both direction?
Do they get crowded?
Is there a snack bar on them?
What about stand-by paramedics. Health and safety you know..!!

Someone somewhere is being paid a lot of money for thinking these things up whilst a lot of folk are scrimping and scraping to get through life at the moment.

I wonder how many folk will have a job after Christmas, it always seems to happen that a lot of business's go under at this time.

Re: Amusing Observations...

There is a book called Crap-cycle-lanes by Warrington Cycle Campaign which shows similar if not worse examples.

Re: Amusing Observations...

RBC should create a trim trail along, lets say old railway lines that may be a hit
