Recycling Centres ... closure?

Just read this on the telegraph website ..

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk...losure/?ref=mr

Haslingden and Bacup are being recommended for closure .. and replacing them with 1 'supercentre'

Does this make sense ..and where would they put it ..

Haslingden serves this end of the valley and bacup serves the other end .....

What i can't uderstand the government want us all to recycle more so why close two sites down and just make one this will reduce people from recycling.

Can't speak for Bacup site but the Haslingden site is extremely well run and kept spotless by very friendly helpful staff, it would be a travesty if it was closed.

I'll agree with you there. As I go to Burnley and Accy a lot it's very handy for me to throw stuff in the car and take it up there as I'm passing. I just wish a few more people who live near me used it instead of dumping their junk on the back street....and yes they do have cars to take it there, just too lazy I guess.

Re: Recycling Centres ... closure?

When we were emptying my parents house before they moved we were frequent visitors to the Haslingden Recycling Centre and the staff there were so helpful at all times.

We are lucky here in Hyndburn as we have a bulk collection service that is free where they charge you in Rossendale for the same service.
