Re: buying a car

what you do is check your insurance on your own car .... sometimes it covers you for third party if driving a car that isnt your own. If thats the case then you are ok until you get it swapped over to your own insurance.

Re: buying a car

AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT OWN IT........ then.

You can usually drive another car on your insurance providing you neither own nor have hired it (or something like that) check your own insurance co.

Either way you need to check with your own insurance co, perhaps even call them when you collect. OR get it delivered by the previous owner.

Re: buying a car

It sounds like you dont have insurance of your own at the moment.
If you had insurance you just ring your insurance company and add this car to your policy. You can add for a day only if you so wish. I have done that in the past.
You can also get temporary cover from insurers...... but i would imagine its a bit expensive if you havent decided who you want to cover you in the long term.

If using your "driving other cars" extension on your own policy, the car you are about to use must be insured in its own right by its owner.

Spooks is right to say you only get third party cover on your own polivy when usig someone else's car andnot all insurers give it so check your own certificate.

Finally, we also offer temporary cover for anyone over 21 on most cars and vans for any periof between 1 - 28 days. Comprehensive cover perfect if borrowing a car, hiring a car, testing a car, not wanting to be named on someone elses policy for fear of hurting their no claims bonus.

PM me if you want more info.
