Rossendale Pictures

Until the new photo/image section of the site is launched I recommend anyone with any general pictures of Rossendale to post either the image or the URL of where the image is located into this thread.

I will start this in association with a cracking walk I went on this afternoon over the back of Marl Pits. Find below some URL's that should take you to a handful of images taken today.

Some great spring pictures, especially in relation to the sheep and lambs. However notice just how dry it is even in the remote regions of Rossendale at the moment. The majority of the pictures explain themselves, but the third image shows an area of woodland where a small stream usually runs through. It can be quite a torrent during periods of heavy rain as you can see from the debris left behind, but it was bone dry.

Nice pics.

Butterfly a bit blurred, I'm afraid.

The last two links don't work for me.

It'd be interesting to see the same scenes when we are back to 'normal' weather.

Links work fine here...as for the butterfly image, had to use a large amount of zoom simply because I couldn't get too close otherwise it would have flown away. In relation to how far away I was standing I think it's a reasoanble shot.
