Re: Haslingden Memories the exhibition

When I lived in Rossendale for some reason Haslingden was not visited often. Although I recall we lived there until I was 4, before moving to Hareholme. The baths were visited often in the summer of 59 with school mates in the evening. I vaguely remember going to the school near the baths with my mother as she worked there as a nursery nurse, I must have being about 3 at the time. Otherwise we only passed through it on the way to Accrington and other places. Just remembered by father worked at a garage on the outskirts on the Accrington rd, the name was something like Magerisons. Later working for my godfather at Rossendale Block and Tackle, is that Haslingden?

Re: Haslingden Memories the exhibition

Off course it was chain and block. Thank you Thanks again for that information re the garage. My father worked there around 1950 ish then later for Joe Jenkinson at Rossendale Chain and Block. I can still picture him tall? Well he seemed tall to a toddler. virtually bald with upper lipped hair. I still have a picture of him with my father taken at my uncles in Ormskirk. He must have taken us all in his car, Funny how much you recall from a long time ago? Thanks once again.
