what year is the last one Nige?, Hirsts new track room extension is on so not too old a pic, i remember them building that

I am sorry Jac you are mistaken this photo is early from the 1960s, if you look you will see that there are no olp peoples flats/bungelows of bridelway and there are houses on BRE opposite Butterworths

That was on the small car park next to the lasting room, you can see that on the photo (car park that is)

I finished at Hirsts in 1986 and i don't think it had been built at that time.

Looking at that piccie, reminded me of Cordingleys pie shop on the corner, just up from Hirsts.
I used to nip out for the orders for lunch and get a pile of pies for the lads.
The mince and onion pies they did in the canteen at Hirsts were to die for, melt-in-the-mouth pastry.
