i can understand why they did it and dont blame them. they want to get as many higly skilled people as they can in to pick the best, same as any job.

the problem is when too many people show up, and anyone who dosnt have a degree or a-levels gets put towards the back of the que, and for anyone who dosnt think it matters they should lie ona job application once in a while and see what happens. because as soon as you slap on a degree people start to get very keen on interviewing you.

not done it myself as i think degree's are overrated and actual experience and skill should come in to why your hired, not some piece of paper.

Re: Homebase interviews

I don't honestly think that Homebase will be looking for people with degrees, and I wouldn't have thought that anyone with a degree would want a job at Homebase ,unless they are desperate .

Re: Homebase interviews

Unfortuanately a new superstore opening and employing say 40 people doesn't mean 40 people from the local area and most likely not taking people off the dole.

The managment and other senior positions will come from other stores, opening up the way for promotions within the stores they have left.

Most other positions will be filled by people already working for rival stores, seeing this as an opportunity to progress their experience.

A store of that size would be bragging if it created 1/2 dozen 'new' local jobs.

See, he's a guy who will require very little training and will be able to hit the floor running from day 1 ...... just what you need when opening up a new store.

Re: Homebase interviews

it bugs me;

"500 new jobs will be created, let us build our stores" etc, you know the headlines and things!

I dont expect lizzie to get a call back thinking about it, Im just going to talk to the people I work for and take her on as my assistant

Fingers crossed.

I was quite impressed with the application form answers you posted earlier.
