Commuters set for months of misery as more roadworks to start in Rawtenstall - Rossendale Free Press

Rossendale Free Press was more enlightening than LCC Lancashire roadworks bulletins.

Work is due to begin on Monday, June 8 at the crossroads of Newchurch Road, Haslingden Old Road, Burnley Road and St Mary’s Way on improvements to increase capacity of the junction and reduce future delays. It will take around 18 weeks, and is due to be completed in early October.

Let's hope they do some thing about getting the Market pedestrian lights in sync with the main road lights. The number of times I've cursed the pedestrian lights for going to red when the junction lights are on green!!!.

Re: Major sewer work starts.

Sounds like fun times ahead :

Pelican crossings are being installed around the island in the middle of the road across St Mary’s Way and from each side of Bacup Road in Rawtenstall.

Work starts today at the junction near the fire station and St Mary’s Church but it will result in a series of closures and diversions until the end of August.

For the first week vehicles approaching Rawtenstall from Haslingden on the A681 Haslingden Road will be unable to turn right on to the A682 Bury Road, instead will be diverted on to the A682 Bury Road via Bacup Road and Bocholt Way.

A further short diversion will be in needed later in the project, with the access to Bacup Road closed from Monday, July 27, until the end of August.
