If you're on Facebook, please like and share this post:

If not, here's the text from the post:

There's no question that Rawtenstall town centre is immeasurably better for being rid of The Valley Centre, but did you know that decisions are about to be made that could change the town centre again?

Previous proposals for redevelopment have been put forward without any meaningful public consultation process that would allow residents and businesses to offer their input and express their needs to the people who need to hear them but this time it really is different and the people in the driving seat appear to genuinely want to create the right scheme for Rawtenstall.

For this reason, you need to make sure that your voice is heard on the 7th/8th March at Longholme Methodist Church.

Several interesting proposals will be available to view and DAY Architectural will be there to listen, along with Barnfield Construction and RBC.

Please don't miss out on this opportunity.

Re: Plans to demolish Valley Centre shopping centre

Opinions split on Rawtenstall town centre plans - Rossendale Free Press

I am inclined to agree with the Chamber of Commerce comments about lack of open space and also share Jake Berrys opinion that the proposed development will not blend well with the remainder of Bank Street and may well become outdated very quickly.

The preliminary Spinning Point proposals developed for the site of the former Valley Centre, in Rawtenstall. Spinning Point - Masterplan and Vision

.. Spinning Point is the Masterplan and Vision for redevelopment of the former Valley Centre in Rawtenstall, Rossendale, led by the RTB Partnership. Provisionally named “Spinning Point”, the project proposes the partial redevelopment of Rawtenstall town centre, opening it up to form a new central hub with the potential for new office, commercial, mixed use and residential facilities to complement the existing offering along Bank Street..
