I spotted this in last weeks planning application's list.

As Hurstwood Developments Ltd is shown as in Receivership on the Companies House website, I presume that this is the Receiver (Bank?) hoping to recoup some money by finishing the development.

Re: Kearns Mill, Cowpe.

My feeling is that this is simply an amended scheme to the original development of 39 homes in order to get a new planning consent.
Only difference that I can see is the demolition of the old boiler house/ fitters shop.
The site is still on the market though....

Yeah, probably a re-application as I'm sure planning apps run out after 3 years.

Have a feeling that it was for five years, but if they can get the amended plan through, the clock starts again afresh so perhaps the idea is that the housing market will have picked up before the consent finally runs out.
Or better chance of selling the site.

Re: Kearns Mill, Cowpe.

Looks like the mill site may have sold, I noticed on Monday some activity with a couple of excavators etc as well as surveyors.

Name on the digger was Skipton Properties, and I know that they have done some nice mill conversions over in Yorkshire so hopefully the mill will get a quality makeover....

Re: Kearns Mill, Cowpe.

A DERELICT mill can be turned into a luxury village, planners have ruled.
Skipton Properties will bulldoze the 19th century Kearns of Waterfoot textiles mill and erect 22 four and five bedroom homes, with private parking, landscaping, and a sta-ble block with fields.

Rossendale mill site village given go-ahead (From Lancashire Telegraph)
