Quite a few 'big' applications on this weeks list.
  • The new bus depot at Knowsley Park in Haslingden
  • Conversion of mill in Whitworth for new premises for The Fudge Factory
  • Change of use for the temporary car sales showroom for Ribble Bentley.
  • Variation of planning for the site of the former Amtrack building by Hurstwood
  • New outdoor lights and signs for Pets at Home at New Hall Hey

Good spot, must've missed that one.

I think the fast-food outlets on New Hall Hey are going to be Subway and KFC, so I would imagine that application is for KFC.

Nice one!

That'll save me having to drive over to Blackburn to get my fix of "finger lickin' chicken."

The application for The fudge factory : Number 2008/0079.
Is this the mill that was used as the leather market for the past 20+ years ...opposite the Facit Mill tower / next door to the small plumbing shop ?
I drove past there today and there was already signs up for the Fudge factory .?

Yep, that's one the rainbow.

It's used to James Brown Leathermarket many many years ago. I don't think it was that James Brown though.

Coates bought it and it's now currently their 'Innovation Centre'.

The KFC between Blackburn and Preston has changed hands and is supposed to be filthy. The Leather Market was one of Rossendale's biggest buisnesses at one time and I think they used Facit Mill for storage. Then they tried with some furniture. A friend's Mum was the manageress.
