So in other words... now is not a good time to fish for them.

You can however fish in the various ponds etc around the valley - thats if you can find a day ticket one.

There is a free pond or two about if your interested.

does that mean that i cant fish until the 1st of april? was thinking of going to the post office for a licence.

You could buy a licence today, 2nd March for 27, but it would run out on the 31st March. Licences are annual 1st April-31st March; and you need one for any River, Lake or Pond that you may wish to fish. Regardless of any day-ticket that you may also require.

Look on the bright side, you haven't long to wait; and planning a fishing day out, is almost as much fun as being there. As more noted anglers than me have said,"There's more to fishing than catching fish" .

aswell as fishing i think i fancy pony trekking over one of the old packhorse routes on our lovely moors. i went over to whitworth recently and had a wander round on the tops over to e resevoir, cant remember what it was called though. bet its great for horse riding up there. no cars. havnt got a horse though.
