Re: Mountain bike racing at Lee Quarry

the entry forms are also at hassy sports centre. I picked one up today so then i could put it on here .... but already beaten to it.

Besides 19 April its also on 4th May, 17th May and 31st May. It all kicks off at 10am .. the warm ups start at 9.30am and registration at 8.30am.

There are 3 categories ...

Racer - experienced, fit and skilled riders only, our top category. If you have a BC racing licence you must enter this category.

Weekend Warrior - you can ride a bike well, lots of experience, you probably go downhill faster than up.

Have-a-go Hero - you have the bike and the enthusiasm, but may lack experience or fitness.

well i know which one i would be in.

Oh and it also says on the entry form - Brownbacks need marshals! We cant run the series without the support of marshals. The first 12 marshals to sign up at each race will be entered into a free prize draw to win 50 in cash. If you can marshal (or bring one) please tick the box and we'll be in touch. more info available on their website.

It is a series 1 race and for over 18s only.

Please be aware that other users have a right to use the quarry regardless of racing or not. Racers may have to slow down on occasion.

Re: Mountain bike racing at Lee Quarry

We are well aware of the status of the site and have the permission of the landowner to be there.

We ask that other users of the quarry respect that we are conducting a lawful activity and that we have a right to be there as well. The racing is only on for 2 hours on the Sunday morning and we are keen to work with other users to ensure that the site can be used for everyone's enjoyment but taking into account that we want to "race" on the site.

If you have a particular issue please email info@brownbacksracing.co.uk

On the day ask for one of the organisers or the Lancashire CC rangers who will be on site.

You can of course insist on your right to access the common land but we would ask you not to in a way that would prevent/ disrupt/ interfer/ cause conflict with etc the event and the riders, and to support our events.
