Rossendale Radio license granted

Rossendale Radio have now heard from Ofcom and the great news is that the radio license for Rossendale has been granted.
This means the team behind the application now has a maximum of two years to fund and set up the radio studios needed to broadcast Rossendale Radio.
Rossendale Radio Project Co-ordinator Tony Nixon said, "This is a massive boost to the community groups and businesses of The Valley, and we look forward to being the extra voice they need. We realise there is now a new list of things to do, and the work will be long and hard - but our plan is to be broadcasting Rossendale Radio by Summer 2009."
Rossendale Radio upon launching, will broadcast for a total of five years, and openly encourages anyone and everyone with an interest in broadcasting to their own home towns, to get in touch.
Tony, a Bacup resident says, "This radio station is for the people of The Valley, and we invite everybody to get involved at whatever level they wish. If you have an interest in presenting a radio programme, then, with a small amount of training, why not come and present your own show?"
Rossendale Radio can be contacted through their website here.

First of all, welcome to Rossendale and indeed Rossendale Online.
I'm not sure exactly which frequency they will be broadcasting from, but I sure Rossendale Radio organiser, Tony Nixon (Radioman), will be able to let you know.
Rossendale Radio is to be broadcast from a studio in Haslingden and could be live sometime in 2009.

Re: Rossendale Radio license granted
Hi everyone
Lets see if I can answer all the questions here.
Firstly - we're nowhere near being on air yet
It will be at the very least 10 to 12 months, and even thats optimistic.
Believe it or not, we'll need slightly more than 10k.
Add a nought to your highest guess and we might be somewhere near.
And Jacqui ... 99.8FM is 2BR in Burnley.
Where I'm on air right now doing the Sport
