Have spent many hours there watching the vixen and her cubs playing in the lower graveyard. Its really spooky in there at night! Wizzy loves it.

Was he master of the hounds? Cannot read the inscription. While we are on the subject is this postcard Newchurch with Turnpike centre right. It was advertised as Kirk in Rossendale. If someone can identify it I will put it in the gallery.

I'd say that's defintely a picture of Newchurch - you can see both St. Nicholas' and St. Peter's churches. Plus it's lofty position overlooking the middle of the valley is a giveaway. |
